Frequently asked questions

FAQ

The questions people actually ask when considering acquiring a company in Fuerteventura. If something's missing, write to us directly.

The model

What does "delivering a company" actually mean?

You don't just receive an empty space to fill: you receive an already-incorporated company, with licenses, brand identity, website and complete operational documentation, ready to launch from day one.

How are you different from a traditional transfer or a real estate agency?

We are not real estate intermediaries. We design and build the company from scratch, or verify every aspect of an existing business before offering it, absorbing the share of risk that normally falls entirely on the buyer.

What does "risk absorption" mean in practice?

Every company we deliver has already gone through, at our expense, the riskiest stages: validating the concept, verifying real costs, choosing spaces and equipment. What remains for the client is the physiological risk of day-to-day management, the same risk any entrepreneur would carry, in any sector.

Documentation, licenses and paperwork

Do I have to handle the licenses the business needs myself?

No. Operating licenses are requested by FuerteVenture on your behalf and delivered ready at the moment of transfer. You don't have to go through the process with local authorities yourself: by the time the company passes to you, it's already authorized to operate.

What about the personal documentation needed to relocate to Fuerteventura?

The same principle applies. We support you in gathering the personal documentation useful for relocating, based on your nationality and situation, so you don't have to navigate unfamiliar offices and authorities on your own.

How long does the whole process take, from signing to delivery?

It depends on the complexity of the company you choose: a new brand requires different fit-out times than an existing, already-running business. The process always follows the same 6 stages (pre-qualification, discovery call, agreement, work, completion, formal transfer), and the timeline is shared before signing, not left undefined.

The digital package

Does the company include an online presence, or just the physical space?

It includes both. Every company is delivered with a website and social pages already set up and ready to launch, plus a publishing schedule to follow in the first months. You're not just buying a venue: you're buying a digital identity that's already built and ready to generate visibility.

Will I have to manage the social media myself after opening?

You receive an editorial schedule designed for your specific brand, with guidance on what to publish and when. You can manage it yourself or hand it to a professional: the schedule is yours either way, there's no need to reinvent the strategy from scratch.

Professionals included

Do I have to find a notary, a lawyer or an accountant myself for the deal?

No. Every professional needed to complete the deal, lawyers, notaries, accountants, is provided directly by FuerteVenture. It's part of the service, not an extra cost you have to arrange yourself.

Can I still use my own trusted advisor?

Of course. You can always work alongside, or replace, the professionals we provide with your own, if you prefer. The included professional network mainly serves those who don't yet have a local contact in Fuerteventura.

Taxation and incentives

Are there tax incentives for investing in Fuerteventura?

Yes. The most relevant is the Zona Especial Canaria (ZEC) regime: companies registered under it can benefit from a 4% Corporate Tax rate, compared to Spain's standard 25%, on a preferential tax base.

The main requirements for Fuerteventura, a non-capital island, are: a minimum investment of €50,000 within the first two years, the creation of at least 3 jobs within the first 6 months (maintained for the entire time registered under the regime), registered office and effective management in the Canary Islands, and at least one administrator resident in the archipelago. The regime also provides an IGIC exemption on certain transactions between ZEC companies.

Registration deadlines and exact requirements are subject to periodic extensions approved by the European Commission: we verify your specific eligibility with the accountants included in the service before you sign, rather than leaving you with generic information to base a decision on.

Does FuerteVenture handle the ZEC registration for me?

Eligibility assessment and, where applicable, registration are handled by the tax professionals included in the service, as part of the legal and administrative structure of the company you receive.

What rate applies to the purchase of the company?

The format price is increased by 7% IGIC, the Canary Islands' general indirect tax, the local equivalent of VAT at a lower rate than the rest of Spain, plus notary costs.

Price and payments

How does the payment structure work?

In three stages: 30% on signing the agreement (non-refundable), 30% on completion of work, 40% on finalization and formal transfer.

What happens if I decide not to proceed after signing?

The first 30% payment is non-refundable: it covers the start of work and paperwork, which begin immediately after signing. That's why the pre-qualification stage comes before signing, to verify together that it's the right choice before committing financially.

Does the listed price include everything?

The price covers the business and its fit-out as described in the project listing. IGIC and notary costs are added according to the standard fee structure; legal deposit and temporary rent for the first months are already included.

Transfers of existing businesses

Is buying an existing business different from buying a new brand?

Yes, but the verification method is the same. For existing businesses, before offering them we go through documentary and operational due diligence: accounts, contracts, licenses and utility bills are verified point by point.

Can I know why the owner is selling?

Always. Before any negotiation you receive the complete picture of the business, reason for sale included: it's an explicit part of our method, not information that only surfaces on request.

After the purchase

What support do I get after the formal transfer?

You receive all the operational documentation, training materials and a company user manual. FuerteVenture remains a direct point of contact for post-transfer questions, we don't disappear after the final signature.

Do you guarantee a minimum revenue?

No, and we say so explicitly: we don't guarantee revenue. What we guarantee is that the company is structured, documented and verifiable. The rest depends on management, as with any real business.

Practical questions

Do you speak Italian, English and Spanish?

Yes, the site and the team operate in all three languages.

Can I visit Fuerteventura before deciding?

It's strongly recommended, especially for existing, already-running businesses. The pre-qualification stage is also the right time to arrange a visit.

Do I need a visa or a special permit to relocate?

It depends on your nationality: EU citizens need no visa, Fuerteventura is Spanish territory with free movement. For non-EU citizens the situation is assessed case by case, and it's one of the things we verify together during pre-qualification, with support from the included professionals.

Do I need to speak Spanish to run the business?

It helps, but it's not essential: the clientele of many of our companies is already international. You still receive training support to handle relationships with local authorities and suppliers.

How do I contact you to get started?

Through the Contacts page, via WhatsApp or email. The first step is always pre-qualification: understanding goals, budget and profile together.
